Hi, my name is Klaas, travelling chef exploring the World Cuisines.
 
My life is a culinary road trip, an adventures tour to gastro pubs, restaurants, hotels and TV cooking shows. From Amsterdam to Dublin, from London to Bangkok. I have been bitten by the chef bug and I am, just like you, searching for the ultimate taste sensation. During my travels I discovered Smedes batters.
 
Before you drop out and think ‘here we go this is just another baking powder’, please stay tuned for a little longer. This batter gives a better taste, texture and bite to all crispy fried dishes. And it is so easy to use. A great solution for a hectic kitchen.
 
I previously used tempura or made my own batter using flour. Which was fine but never perfect. Smedes batters do give me that perfect result I was looking for. It is easy to use, gives an unrivalled crispy crust and due to the rapid closure of the crust, my products are less fatty. And in addition to this it is also consistent. You can serve the perfect fried products to your clients, even when the pressure is on.
